The staple selected is too long for the thickness of paper. There is a rule of thumb for this: 10 sheets of standard paper (80 gsm) are approx. 1 mm thick. Paper stack height plus 3 mm will give you the appropriate staple leg length.

The perforator was held at an angle while punching and the lock for the home position is engaged. To release it, hold the perforator straight and press it down again. We recommend hole-punching on the desk in the way illustrated, this will prevent the perforator from jamming in the down position.

To remove the locking pin, press the lever down a short way and, at the same time, pull the pin out with your other hand.

You are not using genuine Novus staples. Other staple makes are not bent in the correct shape, this causes them to stick on the staple carrier and prevents them from being pushed forward.

Genuine Novus staples are shaped in exactly the way they need to be and can easily be moved back and forth on the staple magazine.
